During my years as the 57th Governor of Missouri, I often noticed that there were hardworking Missourians struggling to make ends meet due to unexpected financial setbacks such as medical expenses, child care, home repairs, automobile breakdowns—the list could go on. Unfortunately, their circumstances would often affect their job performance and attendance for a period of time. These individuals do not qualify for state or federal assistance and are the frontline employees who keep our economy strong. In order to strengthen our state’s workforce, The 57 Foundation was founded to assist these Missourians.
As a continuation of the public service that Teresa and I shared throughout our years in Jefferson City, along with our focus on keeping Missouri’s workforce strong, this nonprofit, nonpartisan organization provides essential support to those who have a particular need, even though they are steadily employed. The resources provided by this 501(c)(3) are made possible by donors across the state.
